This is a good introduction to Jainism - I would rate it 3 and ½ stars. The author writes for a young audience, hoping that the children of Jains that are living in the west and estranged from the roots of their tradition will be reconnected with it. The book is very clear and easy to understand, and perhaps the author assumes too much that his young audience will grow impatient. This book could be read by high school or young college students as an introduction to the Jain faith. In addition to a summary of Jain beliefs, it has a valuable (albeit too brief) summary of important and prominent Jains, as well as a bit about the lives of a few of the Tirthankaras. If the author erred it was in the direction of simplicity, and the attempt to make the material as accessible as possible. He succeeds in the latter, and I would recommend this book for young readers, or novices, who are unaware of, but curious about the Jain religion.

This is a pretty good intro to Jainism. It is neither too complex nor too simple. It gives enough to start you on the way to understanding the belief system. There are deeper books out there but this assumes you know nothing but the name. It is a good starting point.

This is an excellent and practical introduction to Jainism especially for young Jains born in the countries other than India. Dr. Shah has emphasized the practice part of Jainism rather than theories. He has covered all the major practices practiced by lay Jains today in India in their daily life. He has kept the discussion at the level that is logically acceptable by a lay person or the one who has no roots in Jainism.

It isn't often that I regret buying a book. This is one of those occasions. Perhaps I didn't do my homework. I mean, it's written for a Junior High kid's comprehension level. Moreover, the use of second-person perspective ("You this..." and "You that...") makes it especially cloying. Perhaps if it were retitled "Jainism for Dummies" clients would be more satisfied.

Having been reluctant to learn about Jainism my entire life, this book showed me that a book does not have to be boring just because it's about religion. I really like the author's writing style and his simple approach to explaining what I always thought were complicated tenets. I highly recommend this book.

If you don’t know Tagalog at all, I suggest starting with the beginner version of this book. As an aspiring ESL teacher, I really enjoyed the way this workbook was set up. I have been experimenting with different brands of language learning books and CD programs and I have to say this is top five!

I ordered this book "used" and it was brand new and untouched. Taught me how to speak Tagalog/Filipino a bit better, too, for my classes. Salamat po!

The manual is clearly written by a non native speaker who didn't have the benefit of an editor. The first page of the manual reads "The Kindle Whitepaper (sic) features a lot of innovations that ...superior to other Kindle alterations (sic) ...The Kindle Whitepaper makes the intuitive and customizable reader not to mention practical as well".While there is some useful information included, the laughable grammar, syntax and typos suggest the book should be categorized as "Humor" rather than "Reference". I am reminded of Sacha Cohen's character "Borat" in the film with the long title beginning with "Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit ..."

OK, so I have a 12-year-old. A 12-year-old boy to be more specific. I fed him some pancake bacon dippers and it was a frightening sight. I think my other son is going to need some sort of therapy after watching his brother consume the dippers Like a pitbull on a pork chop. My wife made a conscious effort to keep her hands away from his mouth when she dropped the third plate of dippers in front of her sweet little boy, who we now call “Jaws 4.” For the love of all that’s holy, you have to buy this book, but consider yourself warned. There are significant safety risks associated with feeding the recipes from within to adolescent males. Good luck and stay safe.

First, I've tried a couple of these recipes and they are very good. They are doable by an average cook and will make your hungry, camping family quite happy, IMO. I have a couple issues with the format, though. Although you can read the recipes and figure out to prep in advance and bring part of the recipe, pre-made (which is important to me, because I camp alone with my kids and do the driving too, so I like to minimize the time it takes to cook when camping), it would be nice if there were little notes about what you can do in advance and what you have to do after your day of hiking or driving. Also, although recipes are always misleading when they include portion sizes, as a hungry teen eats a lot more than a four-year-old or your elderly aunt, an approximation might help. Some of the recipes include portion sizes, but not all. For example, the flatbread makes "one flatbread" (so I was thinking pita or naan) but uses four cups of flour. I assume it feeds a few people but it's not really obvious how many, maybe four-six with other food? Also, it would be nice if prep and cooking times were noted at the beginning of the recipe, so people could more easily determine what they were up for on a given day, and what should be saved for a beach day, or whatever. That said, it's really nice to have these recipes.

Kate Dunbar has created a wonderful collection of easy-to-access, mouthwatering recipes that are great for the campground as well as the home. The recipes are flavor-packed, but with ingredients that can be readily found. Kate's cooking methods are easily adaptable to whichever method you prefer to use at the campground- coals, grill, or griddle. All of this, plus the beautiful color photos included with each recipe, make The Campground Gourmet a much-needed addition to any camper's cooking repertoire.I've tried some of the recipes already, and my family and I all agreed they were delicious! I can't wait to try each and every one of the skewers, kabobs, and main dishes I've seen- they all look amazing! I plan to mix up the spice rubs as well- they would be great gifts to give to the cook in your life.Thank you Kate Dunbar and RVFamily Travel Atlas for giving campers a terrific resource for every trip to the campground!

Where to start? I love camping. I love cooking. I am pretty good at both, just not at the same time. When camping I tend to make easy fast meals with as little prep as possible. As fast and as fun as my go-to camp meals are, you wouldn't want to eat them for an extended time. My wife is screaming for a salad at the end of a 3-day weekend camping. So thats where we turn to The Campground Gourmet. I need delicious and mouthwatering meals to feed my family of five if I want them to continue to go camping with me, and this book is full of them. I already wowed my kids this morning with the Bacon Pancake Dippers this morning (there may have been cheering). I can't wait to try the S'more Mug Cakes this weekend. Pick up the book, you won't regret it!

Just in case you aren’t familiar with the RVFTA Podcast Network, Kate Dunbar is a bit of a legend. This cookbook is packed with all kinds of tasty creations that would be great at home or the campsite. We couldn’t wait to get right down to it and started off with the Cast Iron Lemmon Pepper Salmon and it was awesome. Can’t wait to cook our way though the book and decide what we will be taking with us on our next camping adventure.

First of all, I’ve always felt the pictures are the most important part of a cookbook or I won’t even look at the ingredients. Five stars right there.The Bacon Pancake Dippers taste so good and also made me think, “Why didn’t I think of that and how are these not a camping staple?” I can’t wait to try some more recipes while enjoying the great photos. I’ll be trying them at home while dreaming of the next camping season.

These recipes look great and I can't wait to try them! The photography is exceptional--Kate knocked it out of the park with this cookbook! The recipes are easy to follow and don't require too many ingredient. Some prep work is involved for some of the recipes, but I think it's totally worth it if you're going after that gourmet meal. I do hope that the next epublication version has a detailed and working table of contents so I can go straight to the recipe from there. I'd also like to get a printed version when it's available.

The gorgeous photos will make you hungry, but beyond that, this cookbook has everything you need for your backyard cooking, grill, or the campground. There’s breakfast, lunch, a fancier steak to a casual kabob and even dessert and drinks. Everything is easy to follow and uses fresh ingredients that are easy to find in any grocery! The rubs, seasonings, sauces and dressings are just added bonus to make your meal stand out to your family and friends. Be careful, you may be serving a bigger crowd that you thought! Don’t wait to buy this book, it will be the best cooking purchase you’ve made all year!

About the Author

Lucy Kimbell: Lucy Kimbell is Associate Fellow, Said Business School, University of Oxford, where she has been teaching strategic design and design thinking to MBAs since 2005. She also is a principal research fellow at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London where she is developing an MBA.As an academic researcher Lucy has published more than 25 journal articles, book chapters and essays on design thinking and service design. For many years, Lucy has taught design students at leading schools such as the Royal College of Art and Parsons The New School for Design. Her artwork has been exhibited internationally including at TED Global. Lucy has consulted for firms including Deutsche Bank, Vodafone, the BBC and numerous social enterprises through her work as fellow at The Young Foundation. Great book

A great book for the practitioner or educator. Lucy has put it all together in a concrete and easy to approach manner.I've used the book as groundwork for an Applied Innovation class and can recommend it.

I love this book. Useful techniques as well as examples. My only complaint is that the handwritten examples can be hard to read.

This is terrific book that takes a serious and grounded view of the role of design in business at the same time that it provides a tangible set of methods and up-to-date case studies that bring alive how design in business works. I applaud Lucy Kimbell on what she has been able to pull together here.

About the Author

Ann Peden is Professor of Health Informatics and Information Management at the University Mississippi Medical Center's School of Health-Related Professions in Jackson, Mississippi. Formerly a member of the Board of the Commission on Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM), Dr. Peden has also served as President of both the Louisiana Medical Record Association and the Mississippi Health Information Management Association. She earned her PhD from the University of Mississippi and an MBA from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, where she also taught in the health information management programs.

Amazon is a great place to buy college textbooks at a reasonable price. I purchased the book for a HIT (Health Information Technology) course. Amazon's price was less than the price for the same book sold at my school's bookstore. I ordered my book about a couple of weeks before school started. The book arrived as described in a timely manner. And the textbook itself is very informative.

This is the same book needed for my class at IUPUI.

Utilized this book for school, it served its purpose. I will keep for reference as some information is good to have for future use.
