I’ve only just started the book, and within 10 pages I had tears in my eyes. I’ve been a fan of Iain S. Thomas’ for over 10 years when “I Wrote This For You†first came out, under the author, “Pleasefindthisâ€. I’ve read everything he’s written, and he’s done it yet again. As an author, he has such a profound sense of humanity and what makes all of our hearts tick and break. I am greatly looking forward to reading this book over and over, and particularly excited since it’s longer than I anticipated. There’s time when words from another person are all you need, but you don’t know what it is you need to hear, or no one’s there for you to speak to - or rather, you don’t have it in you to talk.. and this is just the book for those times. Thank you so much Iain, for all that you do, it makes the greatest difference more than you may ever know <3
What a wonderful book. Every bit of sadness, heartache, depression and hope to overcome is meticulously worded as if they were coming from my own heart. I myself am not a big reader but have truly fallen for Iain S. Thomas’ books & waiting on the release of this new one has been worth the wait. A truly inspiring writer that speaks truth of life experiences and emotions.
Iain Thomas once again manages to be the everyman's poet, delving into the emotions, hopes, fears, disappointments that we all share simply by being human.This work seems to have a theme of finding yourself, accepting who you are, and not being afraid to open yourself to the world. Getting hurt is part of life, messing up is part of life, wanting to be alone at times is part of life; but so is being there when it's important, being brave even when you think you're not, trying again and again and again each day, and being open to all the joys and good the world holds.I look forward to each new offering by this poet.Many thanks to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishers for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased opinion.

May they find every word they were looking for.*This collection of poetry is beautiful and peaceful. Iain S. Thomas’ latest work reads like he is addressing you and only you, that this work was meant for you, to get into your hands and find a connection with you. I think this may be my favorite of his work or it could be I’m writing this review immediately after finishing reading it without letting it sink in for awhile like I usually do. Who knows, but I know it was amazing and it’s exactly what I needed to read and hear right now.
I started reading this book and literally could not stop. I was drawn to the layout of the entire book, not just the words. The colors used and the intermittent pictures, the shapes made with words, the pages where only one word or few words were used and so much more. It all worked together to create a wonderful piece of artistic expression.I believe there were poems that would speak to different people included within the pages of this book. I say this because certain poems spoke to me differently. Some spoke to my insecurities while others spoke to my experience with loss. I was comforted and encouraged by many of the words and the way they were expressed.This is a book I will go back to again and again.Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not always sure how to review a poetry collection. They're always so personal in nature and how much I enjoy them is usually based nearly entirely upon my personal connection to them. In this case, Iain S. Thomas has absolutely nailed it. The poems here are perfect for my reading style of sitting back with some tea and just letting the words speak for themselves. Every poem here is emotionally impactful, and there are some real gems. Nothing here is overly complicated or difficult to understand, so if you want a poetry collection that's perfect for a newcomer to the genre that isn't super comfortable with the format, this is a great one to start with!I received a copy of this book through NetGalley. Growing up, I felt so lost. Not having anyone to talk too and then when I finally did, they didn’t fully understand what I was actually feeling, what I was actually going through. I found Iain, and perhaps Iain found me. He’s the light in my darkness and his words have saved me and have inspired me and have resonated in my soul for a lifetime.This book, even though I havent finished it yet, has already resonated with me because it truly captures all the words I cannot say. I even bought the audible too so I can listen to someone else say those words for me. He truly is inspirational. Please buy this book, he wrote it for all of us, he wrote it for you.
