I was required to purchase this book for a genetics class I taught to young students (8-9 years old). It is not a very good book and I would not recommend it. The author has a strong anti-GMO agenda which prevents objective (and sometimes accurate) discussion of several topics related to genetics. The activities are poorly designed and there are not in-book activities for students to do. This book may only be of interest to extremely avid young biologists because the writing is not terribly engaging. Regardless of any personal stance on genetic engineering or genetic testing, the author's clear agenda prevents this book from being scientific.

This was a very well written genetics book. It covers the bases well, although it does leave some gaps. (Such as incomplete dominance, and problems with cloning). It is a good base, it has simple inquiry activities and labs. I believe that is middle school level rather then high school level. That said, it still has some good ideas. Not as complex or as well developed as I had hoped, but Good nonetheless.

Information was useful as were the graphics and ideas for extending the lessons.

Great book for kids to begin learning the basics of genetics.

Good read, i like how in the beginning mr Seymour said that tongues were evidence of being filled with the holy spirit l, but soon after said it was love. Love was the sure fire evidence of being filled with the spirit of God, for God is love... there is also accounts of him being upstairs above the church (his home) and hearing strange babblings trying to counterfeit true tongues, and he would come down and cast the evils spirits out..... he also constantly warned people not to seek tongues, but rather the giver.

The Azusa Street revival was the beginning of the Pentecostal Movement. This biography tells the story of the man William Seymour who was the most instrumental in bringing about this revival that provided a new dimension to modern Christanity. I shows how the natre and personality of Seymour influenced his spiritual development. A must read for all Evangelical and Pentecostal Christians.

I bought this book for a class but I enjoyed it so much I kept it and have referenced it several times since.

I have purchased several books by Merwin at the recommendation of some of my close friends, one of whom is a poet and really likes his writing. I have read and reread some of his work and just find it difficult to follow or even connect to at times. He does seem to have a way of viewing the world that is unique and sees it through the eyes of a poet. I say that in an appreciative way. There are meanings to his words but it almost seems at times like someone who is detached, perhaps too contained as he sees it, maybe even phlegmatic, devoid of passion or emotion. I am honestly not knocking his writing. It is deep and thoughtful. He constructs his words as a craftsman and I think he is an important poet to study. I just found it difficult to stay with his train of thought and find myself rereading sections too many times so that it breaks the flow. In some ways he reminds me somewhat of T.S. Eliot, whose work I adore, so I'm not quite sure why Merwin doesn't strike the same chord with me that Eliot does. My friends who love his writing obviously don't share me view, and again, I think that's the beauty of poetry, some of it connects with some people, but for others they can't.

This is a brilliant book! I am very satisfied with seller, as the book was accurately described and arrived on time.

Merwin. Always. Yes.

I am a poet - I love poetry, but Merwin has my soul wrapped up in his work and I refuse to unwrap it.

Images of nature no where nearly cover the symbolism Merwin's poems have. Figurative phrases can be found through out. The mind longs to read them again in their extended absence.

Our library, unfortunately, has had all its copies of this book stolen. S, it had been awhile since I had enjoyed reading it. Very happy to add it to my Merwin collection!

Deal with it - Most answers with your basic Mac issues can be found on the web - There likely are 5 or 6 youTube videos to explain it or a quick Google search on your issue will send you to a Mac user group which has already dealt with it and will show you the 5 or 6 needed steps to resolve it - So why bother buying a 999 page book which likely you'l never read - Thus the beauty of this book: It gives you a high-level overview of Mohave just enough to make you knowledgeable and, yes, a bit dangerous - without waisting your weekend sifting through a million pages. This book gives you the big picture hence, you won't get lost in academic nuance. I have learned some really cool stuff about Mojave OS that I would not be able to have learned in a 9,999 page book - and if, and when you need to dig deeper just ask Google or Youtube! (And enjoy the money you save on a couple of cups of good coffee!)

Too basic except, perhaps, for a first time user. No technical depth. Based on some of the author's passing comments (usually beginning with "Macs are said to . . ." , I think the author lacks technical depth.
